Lagos state government has been urged to improve the homes of the physically challenged in the state to aid their well being.


A representative of the Spinal Cord Association of Nigeria, Mr. Ojo Ishola said this, during a reach out programme by students of the Nigerian Institute of journalism to the home.

He explained that the home needs basic amenities for sustaining themselves and more experience personnel to give their members vocational training to make useful to themselves.



Adding that this physically challenged persons needs assistance to meet their set goals and fulfill their dreams because they are human beings who have and enjoy the fundamental human right.

Ishola reveal that the “Government once sent some nurses to the home sometimes ago, but they withdrew after a short while”.

Other members of the association, who poured out their minds, said that being disabled does not make them useless as their brains and minds are not disabled but very well and active.


Some people living with disability in Modupe Cole Memorial Home, Akoka, also appealed to the government to always have their  interest at heart because there is ability in disability.
