Imagine a sparsely populated island, with beautiful trees around, birds tweeting, and the cool ocean breeze.  Also imagine one of your favourite things produced and sold only in that isolated but beautiful island? You don’t need to be told that, that your favourite brand would only be known and consumed only by the few people on this beautiful island. Advertising practitioners have been advised to embrace the social media in other to network with customers on a one on one basis. This charge was given by the producer of the popular MTN I DON PORT ADVERT, Adeyinka Oduniyi, during a one day seminar at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, with the theme ”Advertising And Brand Personality Creation in Age of Social Media”. He said the social media aid advertising than any other platform of communication because of its interactive nature and immediacy in receiving feedback. Adeyinka explained that the liberty to manipulate and write any form of advert thinkable on the internet makes it suit the technological development of this generation.
