Lesson From Social Media This Week - Abobaku /Skiibii
The social media this week has been amazing, with different things to either make one smile, frown or wink. It started out with the 'Abobaku saga' which sprouted different comments and expressions.
The Abobaku who was suppose to be buried with the deceased Ooni of Ife allegedly absconded.
Trust Nigerians, they quickly turned it into a joke thing. Social media users poured out hilarious comments and pictures that would thrill anyone that sees it.

Role of #Abobaku is in life and in death! Many here play that role for politicians even more ardently than the traditionalists.

As if that was not enough, the Five Star Music Entertainment record label, also played an expensive one on Nigerians, saying that the 22 year old singer Skiibii died on 14th of August 2015. Many people felt pity for the young lad and condolences flowed from everywhere. Only for it to be revealed that Skiibii wasn't dead but crew intended to put up a publicity stunt aimed at promoting his new single.
I must say that the stunt did not work out as they planned, it back fired and earned them public criticism and abuses. Thanks to the stunt Skiibii is now known, unfortunately he became an object of ridicule on the social media networks.
Hi sir @MBuhari, can we make it a law to punish anybody that fakes their death to 'die by force'? Once you trend, just remain dead. #Skiibii

Social media users have learnt not to hurriedly congratulate or condole with anyone that brings his or her problem to the platform.
