Nigerian Army Set To Combat Boko Haram, Reinstates 3,032 Soldiers
About 3,032 soldiers who were dismissed from the Nigerian Army has been reinstated out of the 5,000 recently dismissed over alleged indiscipline and criminal cases.
This was made known by the Army spokesman, Col. Sani Usman at a news conference held in Abuja. He recalled that the Nigerian Army sometime ago instituted a committee to review the recent disciplinary cases in the service, especially of those soldiers in the defunct ‘Operation Zaman Lafiya’.

The spokesman said the cases of the 3, 032 reinstated soldiers were treated on merit and are disciplinary and not criminal cases, adding that the review process is still ongoing .
Meanwhile, he revealed that the reinstated soldiers have since commenced re-training exercise at the Nigerian Army Training Center in Kotangora, Niger State, in readiness for their eventual redeployment to the operational bases.
He however explained that the training is to re-orientate the affected soldiers and prepare them for the closing stage of the operational aspect of the counter-insurgency operations with more weapons and new governance.
