Electricity Strikes: Fire Razed Four Shops In Lagos

It was disastrous for shop owners at Abiodun Jagun Street, Ogba Bus stop,Ikeja, Lagos, as fire razed four shops and partly affected two others early this morning.
Eyewitnesses said that the fire started from an electricity spark in one of the shops around 1: 30 am and was put off around 4:25am after it has wrecked so much havoc.
Respondents says that more shops would have been razed if not for street boys who tried putting off the fire and preventing it from escalating by pouring water from the drainage before the fire fighters of Ikeja division arrived.

The shops that got erupted include a boutique, babies stuffs store, a baking material store and a shoe store.

The owner of the baby stuff  store who claimed to have insurance reported that she got a call around 3: 00 am this morning and by the time she got there nothing was spared.

 People reported that the owner of the shop that the fire started from has a nonchalant attitude to switching off his electrical appliances before leaving the shop.

Meanwhile, residents of the area said that it is not the first time such will happen, they said it happens almost every two years and they ask that something be done about it to prevent future occurrences.
