First Female Governor in Nigeria Emerges From Taraba State

Taraba State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Abuja has declared the All Progressive Congress, APC's candidate, Senator Aisha Jumai Alhassan now minister-designate‎, as the bona-fide winner of the governorship election of the April 11, in the state.

She would be Nigeria's first female governor, as the tribunal headed by Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar has sacked Darius Ishaku, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The justice said that Ishaku was not properly nominated because PDP did not conduct any primary election for Taraba State Governorship Election.
